Call to boycott ‘traitors’ of
Sindh Tuesday, January 08, 2008 By our
correspondent HYDERABAD: The Sindh Democratic Forum (SDF)
hosted a gathering of writers, poets, intellectuals and
columnists of Sindh in the aftermath of the assassination
of former premier Benazir Bhutto and pledged to socially
and politically boycott-ing all the “traitors” of Sindh
who are aligned with the regime and whose hands are
stained with the blood of Benazir Bhutto. The gathering
resolved that since Benazir was martyred for the sake of
democracy it appeals to all writers, poets and
intellectuals and the people of Pakistan to support the
party at this crucial junc-ture. Forum convener Abrar Kazi
briefed newsmen at the Hyderabad press club about the
deliberations of the meeting along with Zulfikar Halepoto,
Nazeer Memon and Nazeer Sheikh on Monday. The gathering
paid tributes to Benazir as the “finest daughter” of Sindh and
Pakistan and a jewel of her motherland and resolved that
the incidents of burning down everything in sight,
especially in Sindh, on the heartbreaking news of Shaheed
Benazir Bhutto’s murder was a spontaneous reaction of the
masses against the government. It was also a revolt
against the policies followed by successive military
governments who have first created extremist murderers by
their “reckless” policies and are now waging a “fake” war
against the same Jihadis in the name of war on
terror.
We presented this news without our review as the
news says that democratic masses of our country burnt down
everything in sight including dozens of innocent
Pakistanis resulting a loss more than the nation born in
the war of 1965. We have no review for this news only a
prayer to God that Almighty save our nation from these
intellectuals, poets, media and democratic masses.
